How to remove the password to a PST file in Outlook.

(Outlook 2007, Outlook 2003, Outlook XP, Outlook 2000, Outlook 98, Outlook 97)

To remove the password to a PST file

1. Open Outlook.

2. Enter the current password to the PST file when Outlook asks for it.
If you do not remember the current password to the PST file, use Outlook PST password recovery software.
If you use several password-protected PST files in Outlook, Outlook will offer you to enter the password to each password-protected PST file.

3. Open the PST file in the list you want to delete the password to, right-click the PST file and select the "Properties" item.

4. Click the "Advanced" button on the "General" tab of the "Properties" dialog box. Click the "Change Password" button in the new "Personal Folders" dialog box.

5. Enter the current password to the PST file in the "Old password" field in the "Change Password" dialog box (it is the same password you entered in step 2).
If you do not remember the current password to the PST file, use PST password recovery software.
Leave the "New password" and "Verify password" fields empty. Click the "OK" button.

Attention! After you remove the password to the PST file, data stored in this PST file (mails, tasks, notes, etc.) will remain unprotected and any user who has access to your computer will be able to edit them.
